Snake River Retreat

    A slice of modernism in a rustic environment, Snake River Retreat challenges the notion of contemporary design in a rugged landscape. Set amid a mature riparian cottonwood bosque and nestled along Fish Creek near Wyoming’s Grand Teton National Park, the contemporary home and guest house allowed for the creation of a variety of outdoor spaces in courtyards and alcoves created by the highly articulated exterior walls. Degraded by the property’s former use as a cattle ranch, the design includes the ecological restoration of over one-quarter mile of Fish Creek through a multi-layered tapestry of riparian and native species. 

   在一个质朴的环境中融入一系列现代元素，蛇河寓所挑战粗犷风格的现代设计概念。这座房屋坐落在一个有历史的河岸上，位于怀俄明州大提顿国家公园(Grand Teton National Park)附近的一条鱼溪旁。在这里，现代的家庭住宅和宾馆允许在庭院和壁龛中创造出各式各样的户外空间。这里曾经是被用作养牛场的退化土地，设计包括通过种植河边织锦和本地物种，生态修复超过四分之一英里的鱼溪。
